Synopsis

She lost her left arm near the shoulder and nearly bled out in the lineup. AnnaSophia Robb plays Bethany not as a victim but as a stubborn kid who flat-out refuses to be done. Her parents, Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid, have to figure out how to send their daughter back into the same ocean. Balancing on a board with one arm, paddling out again, returning to contests against able-bodied riders — that's the real fight the back half of the film tracks.
