Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (2016) is a sci-fi black comedy from BBC America, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Dirk's whole philosophy fits in one line: everything is connected. So he solves cases not by chasing clues but by drifting wherever the universe seems to push him.

Todd Brotzman (Elijah Wood) is a broke hotel bellhop whose life is already coming apart at the seams. Then Dirk Gently (Samuel Barnett), a detective in a ridiculous jacket, crashes in and declares Todd his assistant without asking. The two get dragged into the murder of a millionaire, with threads leading to a kidnapped girl, a cult, a time machine and a corgi that is definitely more than a corgi. The more absurd the coincidence, the closer they are to the answer.

Adapted from the novels by Douglas Adams of Hitchhiker's Guide fame, the show keeps his signature chaos, where scattered storylines snap together at the end with surprising precision. It ran two seasons across 2016 and 2017. A great pick for anyone who likes sci-fi, detective work and pure nonsense shaken into one dizzying cocktail.
