Keir Gilchrist plays Sam without soft edges: strict inner rules, zero tolerance for vagueness, and a genuine drive toward independence that keeps pulling the ground from under everyone around him. His mother Elsa (Jennifer Jason Leigh) has spent years managing his world — she's the last one ready to let go. Sister Casey (Brigette Lundy-Paine) will throw a punch defending him but is quietly sorting out her own identity. The show runs four seasons and 38 episodes, and it's less about a diagnosis than about a family learning to step back at the right moment.
