About

Synopsis

Peaceful Warrior (2006), Victor Salva's drama drawn from Dan Millman's autobiography, is available to watch online on iFILM. Dan (Scott Mechlowicz) is a college gymnastics star with everything going for him: trophies, motorcycles, women, and a real shot at the Olympic team.

One sleepless night he meets an old gas-station attendant who goes by Socrates. Played by Nick Nolte, gravel-voiced and unmovable, the man talks in riddles and has the irritating habit of being right. Dan writes him off as a crank — until he shatters his leg in a crash and the career he assumed was his falls apart. That's when Socrates' lessons about attention, the body, and staying present stop sounding like nonsense.

The film comes from a book that sold millions to readers in the self-improvement crowd, and it rides almost entirely on the chemistry between Mechlowicz and Nolte. It gets preachy in places, sure, but it means it. This one is for viewers who like quiet stories about recovery and meaning, with no action and no posturing. Stream Peaceful Warrior (2006) online on iFILM.
