Synopsis

Nothing But the Truth (2008) is Rod Lurie's drama-thriller, available to watch online on iFILM. A reporter prints the name of a covert CIA operative, and suddenly her choice is brutal: give up the source who told her, or go to prison.

Rachel Armstrong (Kate Beckinsale) keeps her promise and refuses to talk, even to a relentless special prosecutor (Matt Dillon). She lands in jail with no release date in sight. Her attorney, Albert Burnside (Alan Alda), carries the fight toward the Supreme Court while her marriage, her son and her career quietly come apart. Vera Farmiga, Angela Bassett and David Schwimmer round out the cast.

The premise borrows from the real Valerie Plame leak, but the characters and the ending are invented — and that ending lands like a punch. It's a tight film about the cost of a principle, and the blurry line where professional duty turns into sheer stubbornness. One for fans of courtroom drama with no clean moral.
