Synopsis
Banana Joe (1982) is an action comedy from Italian director Steno that you can watch online on iFILM. Bud Spencer plays Joe, a giant, gentle islander off the coast of South America who runs the only banana boat to the mainland.
Joe never asks for cash. He swaps his bananas for whatever his neighbors need, hauling back medicine and toys for the village kids. The rhythm breaks when gangsters turn up wanting to build a banana-processing plant on the island. Joe tosses them out by hand, so the mob boss hits him where it hurts: this big-hearted strongman has no trading license, no passport, no papers of any kind. His boat gets seized, and Joe heads into the big city for the first time, where his fists end up far busier than he planned.
Steno made this near the peak of Bud Spencer's fame — no Terence Hill this time, but all the trademark brawls where henchmen fly across the room and nobody actually bleeds.
