Playdate

Playdate (2025) is an action comedy with Alan Ritchson that you can watch online on iFILM. Out-of-work accountant Brian agrees to take his son over to a new acquaintance — Jeff, a fellow stay-at-home dad — for a low-key afternoon with the kids.

It doesn't stay low-key. Brian quickly figures out that the easygoing Jeff is not who he claims to be, and mercenaries are already on both their tails. From there the day collapses into one long obstacle course of brawls, car chases, gunfire and explosions, with a soft-bodied accountant somehow hauling two terrified children through all of it. The tagline puts it plainly: playtime just got real.

Kevin James plays against his usual type, while the hulking Ritchson does the opposite as a flustered dad, and that mismatched pairing carries the whole thing. Luke Greenfield directs, with Alan Tudyk, Isla Fisher and Stephen Root rounding out the cast. It is breezy weekend action for anyone who likes their fights with a wink.
