Over the Top

Lincoln Hawk picks the boy up from military school at the request of his dying ex-wife. The kid looks down on his blue-collar dad, a man who sleeps in his cab, eats at truck stops, and earns extra cash slamming strangers' arms onto bar tables. The long road to Las Vegas is their one shot at becoming father and son. Waiting at the end is a tournament where the prize is a brand-new truck and the title of strongest man. Robert Loggia plays the rich grandfather who will spend anything to keep the boy away from Hawk.
