Honnouji Academy answers to one person: student council president Satsuki Kiryuin, whose elite enforcers wear power-granting Goku Uniforms. Then Ryuko Matoi shows up swinging half of a giant pair of scissors, hunting whoever used the other half to murder her father. Her first run at Satsuki ends in a beating. Everything flips once she bonds with Senketsu, a sentient sailor uniform that runs on her blood. From there the show turns clothing, thread and fashion itself into weaponry, and every brawl somehow outsizes the last.

The team behind it walked out of Gainax to launch Trigger, and the fingerprints are all over it: insane pacing, hand-drawn excess, gleeful bad taste, and a Hiroyuki Sawano score that never sits still.
