Season 1
Synopsis
Watch Wonder Egg Priority Season 1 online on iFILM — a 12-episode Japanese anime from 2021 that blends drama, mystery and fantasy. Fourteen-year-old Ai Ohto, a shut-in who hides one eye behind her hair, hears a voice telling her to crack an egg and reach what she wants most.
What hatches are other girls, and Ai has to carry them through a nightmare and bring them out alive. That's how she finds Neiru, Rika and Momoe — three girls she'd never have spoken to, each guarding a private wound. The season isn't really about the monsters. It's about what those wounds stand for: bullying, pressure, the people the girls couldn't save. The deeper they go, the harder they push on who is selling these eggs and why, and two odd dolls named Acca and Ura-Acca clearly know more than they let on.
CloverWorks gives heavy subject matter some of the most fluid, dreamlike animation of its year. Best suited to viewers who want anime as a conversation about growing up rather than a fight scene. Stream Wonder Egg Priority Season 1 online on iFILM.
