The Lie

The Lie (2018) is a psychological thriller from Veena Sud you can watch online on iFILM. Musician Jay is driving his teenage daughter to dance camp. They stop for her friend on a snowy roadside. Only one girl gets back in the car.

Kayla tells her father she pushed Brittany off a bridge. From there the story drops the crime and zeroes in on the parents. Jay (Peter Sarsgaard) and his ex-wife Rebecca (Mireille Enos), a sharp attorney, decide to cover for their daughter, lying to police and to the missing girl's frantic father. Each lie forces a worse one, and Joey King keeps Kayla just unreadable enough to make you doubt everything.
