Video-store mogul Johnny (Eugene Levy), soap-opera diva Moira (Catherine O'Hara) and their grown kids — fussy David (Dan Levy) and socialite Alexis (Annie Murphy) — cram into two rooms of a run-down motel. The cash is gone; the entitlement lingers. The town comes with an oddball mayor, a sweetly clueless waitress and a cast of locals the Roses first treat like a punishment. Then, slowly, the place starts to feel like home.

Eugene and Dan Levy built the show as a father-son project, and its final season swept nine Emmys in one night, a record haul for a comedy.
