Timeline

Timeline (2003) is Richard Donner's sci-fi action adventure, adapted from Michael Crichton's novel and available to watch online on iFILM. A team of archaeology students steps into an experimental device to pull their missing professor back from the past.

The machine was only ever meant to teleport matter across a room. Instead it drops them into France in 1357, deep in the Hundred Years' War, with siege lines, burning villages and armored knights all too real. Their return window is open for mere hours, so the students have to do more than study the medieval world — they have to live through it. Paul Walker, Gerard Butler and Frances O'Connor lead the way, alongside Billy Connolly and David Thewlis.
