Disaster Movie (2008) is the spoof comedy from Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Across one chaotic night, a group of twenty-somethings gets hit with everything at once: asteroids, earthquakes, twisters and a parade of characters lifted straight out of other people's blockbusters.

The pair behind Meet the Spartans take mid-2000s pop culture and crank it into nonsense. Send-ups of Iron Man, Hannah Montana, Sex and the City and a dozen other hits crash through the frame, with Kim Kardashian and Carmen Electra turning up in bit parts. Matt Lanter and Vanessa Lachey headline as the leads.

To be straight about it: critics savaged this assembly-line brand of parody, and the film hauled in a stack of Razzie nominations. Still, as a time capsule stuffed with the throwaway memes and gags of 2008, it has a weird curiosity value for anyone nostalgic for that era of the internet.
