Synopsis
Dostoevsky's Three Women (2011) is a Russian biographical drama you can watch online on iFILM. Seven years after the prison camp, three women reshape the writer's life.
At its center is Fyodor Dostoevsky stripped of the textbook polish — a gambler, a jealous man, someone perpetually on the edge. The script is drawn from his letters to his brother and to his second wife, the young stenographer Anna Snitkina, who took down "The Gambler" from dictation and stayed beside him to the end. Andrei Tashkov plays the writer at full strain, caught between debts, epilepsy and relentless work.
A chamber-scale Russian film for anyone after a real attempt at a character rather than a glossy biopic postcard. Stream Dostoevsky's Three Women (2011) online on iFILM.
