Rooks (Season 1)

Rooks (2026) is a postwar crime series you can watch online on iFILM. Leningrad, 1947. Militia captain Alexander Ratnikov works a string of murders, and the trail runs somewhere he never expected.

The prime suspect is a quiet fish-plant technologist named Pavel Vedernikov — a cover for Gunther Seiler, once a deputy commandant of a children's camp that shared its grim nickname, "Rooks." Passing as one of his neighbors, Seiler is after an art collection that vanished during the war, and he'll remove anyone standing between him and the border. For Ratnikov the hunt is personal: Seiler is the last thread linking him to his own daughter, lost in those same years.

Artyom Tkachenko and Alexey Serebryakov anchor a tense chase in which lawman and monster follow one trail toward opposite ends. Director Ilya Maksimov keeps the retro mystery poised between pursuit, historical wound and the quiet dread of not knowing who your neighbor really is.
