The Waiting Room (Season 1)

The Waiting Room (Зал ожидания, 1998) is a family drama series you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Dmitry Astrakhan. Viktor is a former athlete who has spent some time drifting. He ends up stranded in the small, snow-covered town of Zarechensk and, instead of moving on, takes a job at the local orphanage.

There he meets a teacher who becomes both a friend and something more. Around the same time, a Moscow film crew gets held up in Zarechensk on their way back from a shoot — the director starts searching for a lead actress and finds something she wasn't expecting. The cast spans two generations of Russian cinema: Vyacheslav Tikhonov, Mikhail Ulyanov, Mikhail Boyarsky, Nina Usatova, Vera Glagoleva, Nikolai Yeryomenko and Igor Kostolovsky.
