Dragon's Dogma (Season 1)

Dragon's Dogma (2020) is an anime series you can watch online on iFILM — seven episodes by studio Sublimation, adapting Capcom's 2012 action role-playing game of the same name. A dragon kills Ethan, tears out his heart, and lets him come back as an Arisen. He sets off to destroy the creature, bound to a spirit companion called a Pawn who observes everything and feels nothing.

Each episode is built around one of the seven deadly sins, embodied by the demons Ethan fights on the way. Yuichi Nakamura voices Ethan; Nana Mizuki plays the Pawn. The animation leans hard into grim design rather than spectacular fights — a deliberate choice that either lands or doesn't, depending on your taste.

Rated TV-MA, the series runs short and bleak. It doesn't resolve cleanly, and it isn't trying to. Fans of the game will recognize the skeleton of the world; newcomers get a compact dark fantasy about what a man loses when he spends too long chasing the thing that killed him.
