Synopsis
The Plagues of Breslau (Plagi Breslau, 2018) is Patryk Vega's Polish crime thriller, and you can watch it online on iFILM. A wave of public executions hits Wrocław: at exactly 6 p.m. each day, a fresh corpse turns up on the streets, staged like a medieval punishment. Detective Helena Rus takes the case and soon realizes the clues lead back into the brutal 18th-century past of the city once called Breslau.
The deeper she digs, the clearer it gets — the killer isn't picking victims at random but sentencing them by an old code for very modern sins. Małgorzata Kożuchowska plays Helena as dry, worn down and prickly, no gloss, just a race against the clock. Vega films it dirty, harsh and graphic, the way he does: heavy on violence, light on mercy, an ending that pushes its luck.
