Synopsis
Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016) is Anurag Kashyap's grimy Mumbai crime thriller, and you can watch online on iFILM. Two men move through the city's hot nights on opposite sides of the law — and the film keeps blurring which is which.
Ramanna is a drifter with burning eyes, fixated on a real serial killer who terrorized Bombay in the 1960s. He walks into a police station and calmly confesses to eight murders. Raghavan is a coke-addled young cop who has just bludgeoned a witness to death himself. The closer these two circle each other, the harder it gets to tell the hunter from the prey. No chases, no swelling score — just dread and long stares.
Kashyap shot the film fast and almost guerrilla-style, then premiered it at Cannes in the Directors' Fortnight. Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays Ramanna with an unnerving calm: he never shouts, he smiles.
