Blow

Blow (2001) is a crime drama directed by Ted Demme — watch it online on iFILM. Johnny Depp stars as George Jung, the Massachusetts-born smuggler who helped flood the United States with Colombian cocaine through the 1970s and early 1980s. The script draws on Jung's own account of how an ordinary ambition curdled into a federal case.

George starts small — marijuana runs along the California coast — then lands in prison, where a connection to a Colombian supplier changes everything. Back on the outside, he brokers a direct pipeline from the Medellín cartel, rubbing shoulders with Pablo Escobar himself (Cliff Curtis). Penélope Cruz plays his wife Mirtha, who slides deeper into the product than the business ever intended. Ray Liotta is his father Fred, the one person who never stopped believing in him.
