Synopsis
Black and White (1999), directed by James Toback, is a drama you can watch online on iFILM. Manhattan in the late nineties: wealthy white teenagers are drawn deeper into hip-hop and street culture than their parents can imagine, orbiting rapper Rich Bower — a man whose gangster years aren't as finished as he'd like.
Shot partly in mockumentary style, the film pulls together a remarkable cast: Robert Downey Jr., Jared Leto, Bijou Phillips, Joe Pantoliano, Brooke Shields, and Mike Tyson playing himself. A very young Michael B. Jordan also appears in one of his earliest screen roles. Toback frames the blurring of two worlds without nostalgia or judgment, and the result is a raw, time-stamped portrait of a New York that no longer quite exists.
