Amagane Rinne is hit by a truck while rushing to her first day at a new school and wakes up enrolled somewhere considerably stranger: a school in Hell, run by demons, governed by rules she doesn't understand, with no straightforward way out. What follows isn't what you'd expect from the premise. Rinne gradually makes friends among her classmates, unravels the logic of the place, and begins to wonder whether escaping is actually the point. The film pivots between grotesque horror and genuine warmth — sometimes within the same scene — which keeps it from settling into any one register. Watch Hells (2008) online on iFILM.
