Synopsis
One Week (1920) is a silent Buster Keaton comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Newlyweds Buster and Sybil receive a build-it-yourself house as a wedding gift, supposedly assembled in just one week. What could possibly go wrong?
A jilted rival quietly renumbers the crates of parts, and the build becomes a slow-motion catastrophe: crooked walls, windows in the wrong places, a house that spins in a storm and ends up parked on a railroad track. Keaton does it all himself — falling, dangling, tumbling — never breaking that famous deadpan stare.
This was the first short Keaton released under his own name as director, and in twenty-five minutes it sketches everything that would set him beside Chaplin.
