Synopsis
Muhammad: The Messenger of God (2015) is available to watch online on iFILM, directed by Majid Majidi — the Iranian filmmaker behind Children of Heaven and The Color of Paradise. The film is set in Mecca around the time of the Prophet's birth: tribal rivalries, a failed military campaign against the Kaaba by the warlord Abraha, and the forces that converge to protect the family of Hashim from those who already sense a threat in the child not yet born.
Majidi made a deliberate choice throughout the shoot: the Prophet's face is never shown. The camera moves around him, suggests his presence, but never confronts it directly. It's a constraint that gives the film an unusual solemnity and separates it from any conventional biographical approach.
