Now he rides his bicycle across Japan, takes whatever job he can find, and treats every workplace as his personal classroom.

Each of the six episodes drops him into a new situation — software company, pool cleaner, ramen kitchen, campaign office — where he starts out looking hopeless and ends up pulling off something nobody expected, then pedals off before anyone can catch him. Directed by Hiroyuki Kitakubo and a rotating team, Golden Boy runs on physical comedy and Kintaro's cheerful obliviousness, delivering the kind of absurdist humour that doesn't wear out on a rewatch.
