Synopsis
The Way of the Househusband (2021), Season 1 is a Netflix comedy anime you can watch online on iFILM — ten short episodes. Tatsu, the legendary yakuza once feared as the Immortal Dragon, has traded the underworld for an apron, and his battlefield is now the kitchen, the laundry and the supermarket aisle.
The whole season runs on one joke and keeps finding new angles on it: gangster menace aimed at household chores. Tatsu haggles for a discount like he's collecting a debt, falls in love with a yoga class, hunts down a limited-edition Blu-ray for his wife Miku, declares war on a cockroach, and loses every standoff with the cat, Gin. His old associate Masa tags along and slowly realizes housewives and yakuza have more in common than anyone admits. Kenjiro Tsuda voices Tatsu, and that deep, dangerous growl applied to grocery talk carries half the comedy.

Tatsu and Masa bump into Torajiro, a fellow ex-gangster now running a crepe truck. The cops grow suspicious of Tatsu’s balcony herb garden.

Miku’s dad tries to bond with Tatsu over a game of catch. A cockroach infiltrates the apartment. The Immortal Claus stops by a kids’ Christmas party.

Tatsu takes a part-time job at a cafe. Then he bumps into a deceased yakuza boss’s wife, who’s now working at the supermarket. It’s Tatsu’s birthday!

While at the mall, Tatsu catches a live Policure show. Later, he goes on a date with Miku to an amusement park, then takes a trip to the beach.

Torajiro hits up Tatsu for some street-level information on the latest craze: bubble tea. Tatsu takes Masa on a confusing trip to the 100-yen shop.

Tatsu gets pulled into a rap battle, then enters a Halloween costume contest with Miku. Things get intense during a trip to a buffet restaurant.

A battle ensues inside Tatsu's body when he catches a fever. Masa stops by for New Year's. In a baking class, Tatsu drives home the value of heart.

To buy Miku a limited edition Policure DVD, Tatsu has to memorize a confusing discount code catchphrase. Tatsu and Miku dogsit; Gin takes another walk.
