Paradise (Seasons 1–2)

Paradise (Paraíso, 2021) is a Spanish supernatural mystery series you can watch online on iFILM, blending teen adventure with a missing-persons case. As the summer of 1992 winds down on the Levante coast, three fifteen-year-old girls — Sandra, Eva and Malena — vanish straight off the floor of a seaside nightclub.

The police get nowhere and seem to be chasing the wrong lead entirely. So Javi, Sandra's younger brother, takes over: together with friends Álvaro and Quino he launches a search of his own. The further the kids dig, the clearer it becomes that whatever took the girls has no entry in any textbook. Their quiet resort town turns out to be a doorway to something far from human.

Director Fernando González Molina builds the mood out of neon clubs, cassette tapes and bicycles — the early-nineties nostalgia these kids-versus-grown-up-evil stories run on. Comparisons to Stranger Things write themselves, though Paradise plays rougher and more distinctly Spanish. It lands for viewers who like an abduction puzzle that tips over into the otherworldly.
