Synopsis
Together 99 (Tillsammans 99, 2023) is Lukas Moodysson's Swedish-Danish tragicomedy, and you can watch it online on iFILM. It returns to the hippie commune of his beloved 2000 film — only this time almost everyone is gone.
It's 1999. The big collective that once filled the house has shrunk to the world's smallest commune: just Göran and Klasse, rattling around the place and feeling the silence. So they hatch a plan — gather the old friends for one more reunion. The familiar faces drift back, dragging with them faded ideals, old grudges and the awkward question of whether any of it ever meant what they thought. Gustaf Hammarsten, Shanti Roney and Cecilia Frode lead the ensemble.
Moodysson refuses easy nostalgia: the laughs land where it hurts, and the ache shows up at the parties. This one is really made for viewers who knew the first film and want to see what became of the dream a quarter-century on. A warm, quiet picture about friendship outlasting every ideology.
