Synopsis
Shrill (2019) is a Hulu comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM. Aidy Bryant — a Saturday Night Live regular — plays Annie, a young journalist in Portland whose size is treated by the world around her as something to fix, apologize for, or quietly ignore.
Three seasons follow Annie navigating a bad boyfriend who makes her sneak out his back door, a perfectionist editor who barely registers she exists, and parents who mean well and miss the point. The shift comes when she starts writing honestly about her own life. The internet reacts. Things get complicated.
Created by Lindy West (from her memoir Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman) alongside Bryant and Alexandra Rushfield, the show runs 18 episodes and closes without a loose end.
