Synopsis
Monkey Kingdom (2015) is a Disneynature documentary you can watch online on iFILM. The camera follows Maya, a low-ranking macaque, and her newborn son through the jungles of South Asia, where the troop has claimed a crumbling temple for a home.
Rank is everything here. The high-born monkeys get the top branches and first pick of the food, while Maya and her baby scrape by at the bottom. Directors Mark Linfield and Alastair Fothergill — the team behind Earth and Chimpanzee — shape the footage into a real survival story, complete with a monitor-lizard raid, a flood and some cheeky thieving from a nearby town.
