Synopsis
Don't Look Now... We're Being Shot At! (La Grande Vadrouille, 1966) is a French wartime comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Director Gérard Oury pairs the two titans of French farce: grumpy Louis de Funès and gentle Bourvil.
Paris, 1942. A British bomber goes down over the occupied city, and its crew bails out across the rooftops. One airman lands where house painter Augustin Bouvet is at work; another drops straight into the apartments of Stanislas Lefort, the pompous conductor of the Grand Opera. The painter and the maestro can barely stand each other, yet they end up smuggling the Englishmen toward the demarcation line, dodging German patrols and their own constant blunders along the way.
The whole picture runs on the de Funès and Bourvil double act, one all temper and bluster, the other all meek apology. For decades this was the most-watched film at the French box office, and it still turns up on television as a holiday staple. Stream Don't Look Now... We're Being Shot At! (1966) online on iFILM.
