Synopsis
This Is the Goat! (Les Chèvres!, 2024) is a French-Belgian historical comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Set in France in 1640, it leans on a real medieval quirk: back then you could actually put an animal on trial.
Lawyer Maitre Pompignac has lost every case he's ever taken — his clients tend to end up quartered, impaled or boiled. Then he's handed a defendant accused of killing a Marshal of France, and only later grasps the catch: his client is a goat. He still has to argue her innocence in court, going head to head with the formidable Maitre Valvert. Dany Boon takes the lead, with Jérôme Commandeur and Grégory Gadebois alongside, under director Fred Cavayé, better known for taut thrillers and clearly enjoying the swing into farce.
