Synopsis
Gaga: Five Foot Two (2017) is a documentary you can watch online on iFILM. For close to a year, director Chris Moukarbel keeps his camera on Lady Gaga — in the studio, at home, in a doctor's office, backstage minutes before a stadium walks out.
This isn't a polished star portrait. Gaga records the Joanne album, builds toward her Super Bowl halftime show, and carries a hard ordinary life alongside it: chronic pain from fibromyalgia, a relationship coming apart, exhaustion, friction with the people closest to her. No stage makeup, no armor. Her father and grandmother turn up, producer Mark Ronson sits in on sessions, Donatella Versace drifts through, and a scene with a frail Tony Bennett lands harder than any musical number.
It's filmed plainly, sometimes uncomfortably close. The Netflix film works even if pop music leaves you cold — it's really about the cost of being watched, and what's left of a person once the lights cut out. For fans, it's Stefani Germanotta with the persona switched off. Stream Gaga: Five Foot Two (2017) online on iFILM.
