Synopsis
The Witness for the Prosecution (2016), Season 1 — a two-part BBC adaptation of Agatha Christie's short story, watch online on iFILM. Post-war London, the 1920s. Leonard Vole, a veteran who can barely find work, is charged with murdering a wealthy society woman.
His solicitor Mayhew has one card left: Leonard's wife Romaine can provide the alibi that saves him. She doesn't. When Romaine takes the stand, she testifies against her husband — and the defence collapses. What follows is Christie at her most precise: the evidence that looks final never quite is.
