Synopsis

Love Don't Co$t a Thing (2003) is a high-school comedy you can watch online on iFILM, with Nick Cannon as a kid who buys his way to the cool table. Troy Byer directs.

Alvin Johnson is a gearhead nobody notices. Then Paris (Christina Milian), the most popular girl at school, wrecks her mother's car and turns to him for a quiet fix. His price isn't money. For two weeks she pretends to be his girlfriend, and suddenly the invisible guy is the talk of the hallway. The catch lands fast: the version of him everyone now likes isn't really him.

A remake of the 1987 teen film Can't Buy Me Love, reset in a Black high-school world, with Kenan Thompson and Kal Penn in the supporting bench. It's breezy and predictable, sure, but the gag about renting status says something sharper than its goofy poster lets on. Stream Love Don't Co$t a Thing (2003) online on iFILM.
