Restless (Season 1)

Restless (2012) is a British drama mini-series you can watch online on iFILM. It adapts William Boyd's novel about a woman who worked for MI6 during World War II and has been running from her own past ever since.

The story threads between two timelines: 1940s Europe, where young Sally Gilmartin is recruited into the intelligence service and sent on assignments where the wrong face at the wrong moment means death; and decades later, where her daughter Ruth discovers the secret and starts to understand why her mother still trusts no one. Hayley Atwell plays Sally in the wartime years, Charlotte Rampling in the present day — two performances that don't look alike, which makes the character more real for it.
