Synopsis

At its heart is the Branch Davidian community and its preacher, David Koresh, played by Taylor Kitsch. It starts with a tip: a small religious group at the Mount Carmel Center has stockpiled weapons, and the ATF plants an undercover agent inside. A botched raid follows, then gunfire, then a standoff that drags on for fifty-one days. The season keeps cutting between both sides — FBI negotiator Gary Noesner (Michael Shannon) pushing for a peaceful exit while the tactical unit leans on psychological pressure, and inside the compound, food and water running out as people's faith is tested to breaking.
