Synopsis
The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst (2015), Season 1 is the HBO true-crime series you can watch online on iFILM — six chapters on Robert Durst, heir to a New York real-estate fortune and a man tied to three deaths across thirty years.
Durst contacted director Andrew Jarecki himself, and that choice anchors all six episodes: a reclusive billionaire who never speaks, finally talking on camera. The case spreads across decades and state lines. A dismembered body washes up near Galveston. A wife vanishes in 1982 and is never found. A close friend who may have known too much is shot dead in Los Angeles. Archive footage, courtroom records and long, unhurried interviews build the picture piece by piece.
What unsettles isn't gore but the calm — the way Durst narrates events that should break a person. This is one of those documentaries that ended up reshaping the real investigation it filmed. Watch The Jinx Season 1 online on iFILM.
