Tiger King (Seasons 1–2)
We've only scratched the surface.
Synopsis
Tiger King (2020) is the Netflix true-crime docuseries you can watch online on iFILM. At its center sits Joe Exotic, an Oklahoma roadside-zoo owner who kept hundreds of tigers, lions and leopards behind chain-link fences.
Joe calls himself a gay redneck with a mullet and a gun, records country songs about his own legend, and spends years feuding with big-cat activist Carole Baskin. The grudge spills off the internet and into a courtroom: he ends up sentenced to 22 years for a murder-for-hire plot against her, animal cruelty and trafficking endangered species. Directors Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin embedded in this world for five years, and every new face — preacher-showman Doc Antle, schemer Jeff Lowe — turns out stranger than the last.
Across seven episodes the real story has nothing to do with cats and everything to do with money, control and the hunger for power over people. It became the conversation of spring 2020 and pulled in viewers who never touch documentaries. Stream Tiger King (2020) online on iFILM.
