Synopsis
The Girl from Plainville (2022), Season 1 — watch online on iFILM: eight episodes of true-crime drama based on one of the most contested manslaughter cases in recent American legal history.
In 2014, Conrad Roy III died by suicide in a Massachusetts parking lot. When police found his phone, they found Michelle Carter. Elle Fanning plays Michelle as a lonely, approval-hungry girl whose bond with Conrad — played by Colton Ryan — existed almost entirely in texts. The series moves between the charged Florida summer when they first met and the 2017 courtroom where prosecutor Katie Rayburn builds a case that legal experts argued had never been tried before. Each episode layers new context: a family in grief, a defense team with a theory, a teenager who sent messages no one quite knew how to classify.
The limited series stays deliberately ambiguous about who Michelle Carter really was — victim, manipulator, or something the law hadn't named yet. Stream The Girl from Plainville Season 1 online on iFILM, all episodes.
