Synopsis
Tin & Tina (2023) is a Spanish horror-thriller you can watch online, the feature debut of Rubin Stein and an expansion of his own short. The scares come not from gore but from taking Scripture at its literal word. After losing a pregnancy, Lola (Milena Smit) and her husband Adolfo (Jaime Lorente) adopt two children from a convent.
Tin and Tina are albino twins with white hair, soft-spoken and impeccably polite, raised by nuns on the strictest possible Catholicism. The trouble is that they read every line of the Bible as a command. Bedtime prayers, punishment for sin, sacrifice for the Lord, none of it is metaphor to them. With Adolfo often away, Lola is left alone with the pair and slowly grasps that their gentleness is far more frightening than any tantrum.
Stein works through contrast: angelic faces, white dresses, a sun-drenched 1980s Spanish house, and the growing dread that faith here has bent into something wrong. It's a slow, anxious film about motherhood, belief and trust rather than a jump-scare ride. Anyone who values The Omen and unsettling creepy-kid horror should stream Tin & Tina (2023) online on iFILM.
