Synopsis
Ciao Alberto (2021) is a Pixar short you can watch online on iFILM. Running just seven minutes, it picks up the story of Luca in the seaside town of Portorosso.
With his best friend Luca away at school, Alberto (voiced by Jack Dylan Grazer) stays behind to work alongside Massimo, the tattooed, one-armed fisherman of very few words who is, as far as Alberto is concerned, the coolest person alive. The kid wants nothing more than to impress his mentor, but every attempt tips into chaos and good intentions keep backfiring.
Director McKenna Jean Harris builds a warm little piece about a clumsy mentor-and-kid bond and how hard it is to truly show up for someone. It plays best as family viewing right after the Luca feature, a short and charming chaser. Stream Ciao Alberto online on iFILM.
