Wrongly kicked off the Seattle Simians hockey team, Jack ends up on the street and meets Ben, a homeless teenager whose life runs on a skateboard. Skate shop owner Ollie rounds out the small crew. Jack picks up the half-pipe with roughly the same speed he once picked up a slap shot — that is both the joke and the entire concept, and the film commits to it without apology. Pro skaters Ryan Sheckler and Bob Burnquist appear in the competition sequences, lending those scenes some genuine credibility. A cheerful kids' sequel that knows exactly what it is.
