Synopsis
Master Z: Ip Man Legacy (2018) is a Hong Kong martial arts actioner you can watch online on iFILM. A spin-off of the celebrated Ip Man saga, it hands the lead to his former rival Cheung Tin Chi, played by Max Zhang.
Beaten by Master Ip, Cheung has hung up his fists and is quietly raising his young son, waiting tables at a bar that serves the city's expats. Hong Kong won't let him rest, though. A run-in with triads who push opium behind the front of a respected restaurant dynasty drags him back into the fight, and protecting the people he loves means trusting his Wing Chun once more. On the other side stands a hulking Dave Bautista as the crime boss, with Michelle Yeoh and Tony Jaa turning up in brief but sharp roles.
The fight choreography comes from Yuen Woo-ping, the man behind The Matrix and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and his signature shows. One brawl staged across glowing neon signs hanging over the street is jaw-dropping.
