Synopsis
Polaroid (2019) is a teen supernatural horror film from director Lars Klevberg, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Shy high schooler Bird Fitcher picks up an old Polaroid camera at the antique shop where she works, then learns that anyone caught in its frame is marked for death.
Bird (Kathryn Prescott) snaps a quick photo of a coworker, and by morning he's dead. When friends drag her to a party where the camera gets passed around again, the body count climbs fast. She spots the pattern: in the developing prints a dark shape looms behind each subject, then comes for them in the order they were photographed. To make it through the night, Bird and her friends dig into the camera's past and the furious spirit bound inside it, racing the curse before it clicks through every last one of them.
Klevberg, who made this before his Child's Play remake, leans on mood and old-fashioned jump scares rather than heavy gore. The movie sat through years of studio delays and arrives trimmed for a softer rating, which shows. A modest but solid scare for anyone missing the throwaway teen slashers of the 2000s.
