Synopsis
Beethoven's 2nd (1993) is Rod Daniel's family comedy, and you can watch it online on iFILM. The giant St. Bernard has finally settled into life with the Newton family. Now he's fallen in love too: his match is a graceful St. Bernard named Missy, and before long there are four fluffy puppies underfoot.
Charles Grodin is back to grumble as dad George, none too thrilled that the dog count just quintupled. The real trouble comes from elsewhere. Missy's owner, the scheming Regina, is in the middle of a nasty divorce and wants to sell the puppies off to spite her husband. So the Newton kids hide the litter and set out to keep the canine family together. From there it's a summer at the lake, escapes, chases, and a final scramble where Beethoven gets to prove what a big dog with a big heart can do.
This sequel to the 1992 hit doesn't aim for depth, and it doesn't need to. It's gentle, goofy fun made for watching with kids, with adorable puppies and villains who never get too scary. If you've got younger viewers and a soft spot for dogs, it's an easy night in. Stream Beethoven's 2nd online on iFILM.
