Synopsis

When Harris's cover is blown, the arrest goes sideways: the seasoned agent ends up bound in the passenger seat of an amateur smuggler's truck. The kid drives his hostage toward the border with no real plan in mind. The long road forces the two closer than either wants, until Arnulfo faces an impossible choice — the cartel, or the man he was supposed to hand over.
Gabriel Ripstein's debut feature took the Best First Feature award at the Berlinale. This is quiet, coiled cinema with barely a gunshot: Roth plays it low and the camera lingers inside the cab until the air turns claustrophobic.
