Synopsis
The Walking Dead, Season 1 — watch online on iFILM. Six episodes, 2010, AMC. Rick Grimes wakes up in a deserted hospital and walks outside into the end of the world.
Atlanta is overrun. Rick finds a father and son who explain the new rules, then rides into the city alone to look for his family. He finds survivors — a group built around whoever seemed competent in the first week — and learns that his wife and son are already among them. So is his partner. The season moves quickly: scavenging runs in the city, a standoff with a rival group, a herd that hits the camp, and a last stop at the CDC that changes what everyone thought they understood about the outbreak. Six episodes is a short run. The show's real subject — the living are harder than the dead — is already plain in episode one.
