Synopsis

Going the Distance (2010) is a romantic comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Erin and Garrett hit it off at a New York bar and spend one easy summer together. Then she heads to San Francisco, and he stays behind for work.

Erin is finishing a journalism degree across the country while Garrett grinds away in the music business, so their relationship now runs on webcams, late-night calls and frequent-flyer miles. They both put in the effort. But right when a real reunion looks possible, each of them lands a career break that could pull them apart for good. Drew Barrymore and Justin Long play a couple worth rooting for, while Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis, as Garrett's buddies, walk off with the filthiest laughs.

Director Nanette Burstein came out of documentary filmmaking, and it shows: the banter feels looser and the comedy runs cruder and franker than the genre usually allows. This one is for anyone tired of sanitized rom-coms who wants a long-distance story that skips the sugary ending. Stream Going the Distance (2010) online on iFILM.
